What does my ISP see when I am connected to SaferVPN?

Updated on: 2017-08-20 11:13:12 UTC

Introduction

Your ISP can only see that you are connected to SaferVPN servers and can see the amount of traffic being passed through you. But they cannot see the actual traffic because it is encrypted by our servers.

How does SaferVPN Work?

As soon as you get connected to SaferVPN server your computer is assigned with a new IP address and new DNS resolvers. Then all your Internet traffic is encrypted and tunneled through SaferVPN server. Then it is decrypted and allowed to travel to its intended destination. Your local ISP will only see a single encrypted data stream between you and SaferVPN server. Your ISP can no longer monitor, log or control your Internet usage and you can bypass your ISP restrictions.

SaferVPN is designed to help you to use the internet privately and securely. SaferVPN have a full Privacy Policy which sets out how we collect and use data from SaferVPN services. This includes how we handle all your personal data, including your general account information (such as registration and payment details). For some customers, the most important aspect of this is how we handle the data created when you use our VPN, which is set out here.

When you use SaferVPN service the only data we collect from you (“VPN Data”) which is as follows:

  1. A time stamp when you connect and disconnect to our VPN service.
  2. The amount of data transmitted (upload and download) during your session.

You can switch between different protocols to change the levels of security and features.
